Genola Campground
On the River Camping
Located just two miles from the picturesque Pierz Golf Course and close to the Genola Ballfields, the Genola campground has 14 spacious sites on the Skunk River equipped with water and electricity (20/30 amp), catering to both RVs and tents. Each site features fire rings, perfect for cozy evenings spent under the stars, and a playground area for the little ones to frolic and play. Genola Campground is also pet friendly, so you can bring your furry companions to join in on the fun (fees and restrictions may apply). Worried about disposing of waste? Fear not, they provide a convenient dump station for your convenience.
What is Nearby?
The Soo Line ATV Trail is just up the hill from this campground. This campground is also conveniently located close to three local watering holes, which serve great food and have plenty to drink. Weekend entertainment is often found at these bars. The campground is within a mile of the Genola Ballfields where Pierz Freedom Fest country music festival takes place every year in addition to the many baseball tournaments throughout the summer, and the state horseshoe events.
Who Should Stay Here:
RV’s, fifth-wheels, and campers often pull into this campground more than tent camping. Genola Campground has super easy access on and off state Highway 25 and the onsite dump station is an added bonus. This campground is best suited for people looking to ride the Soo Line ATV trail for the weekend or those that come to the area for Freedom Fest or the state horseshoe or baseball tournaments at the nearby ballfield. It sits down a hill near the bluffs of the river, so wind is never a factor. Nice cozy place to stay. Many a biker (bicyclist and beyond) have also been known to pop their tent here for a quick night as well.
Things To Consider:
This campground is conveniently located just outside of Genola right off state highway 25 which is a busy route to the north lakes area on the weekends. There is a speed limit decrease at this point on Hwy 25 as you enter the Pierz/Genola city limits. Another thing to consider is beyond the control of the campground, due to its close proximity of the Skunk River, when large amounts of rainfall occur, the campground floods. However, this would not likely happen ‘overnight’ without warning but it is something to consider when booking your stay. It is owned and operated by a trucking company that is located adjacent to it.
